Photos from our clean ups so far this year!
💪🏼🛠️✨
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our members who have joined so far this year, who have stuck by our side, protecting our community and our valuable work AND who have had the courage and integrity to stick by us, even when a corrupt, elitist, and inefficient system tried to squash us. We will never give up on you. ❤️

Dear Fjord CleanUP family,
We want to give you a proper update, straight from the heart, after what has been one of the most turbulent periods in our organisation’s history.
⚖️ The court hearing is now cancelled
As many of you know, we were due in Oslo Tingrett today for our case against Oslo Havn.
However, late last night, Oslo Havn returned our equipment and the Court cancelled the hearing.
Let’s be honest: a public courtroom was probably not where Oslo Havn wanted this story told.
This hearing would have exposed — clearly and publicly — how Oslo’s largest and most consistent volunteer cleanup organisation has been treated over the past year.
But thanks to your support, and the strength of our case, we now stand in a far better position.
💛 The sauna is back — and now it has a new home
Yesterday we finally got our sauna back.
It has already been sold, and with that, we can officially say:
The era of floating saunas is over for Fjord CleanUP.
And honestly?
It feels like a weight off our shoulders.
Floating saunas have given us incredible memories and helped build our community, but they also tied us to a complicated operational system and fragile physical infrastructure — especially in the face of the kind of treatment we’ve experienced this year.
Now we get to focus fully on our new operational model, which we are genuinely excited about:
✓ Drive to the cleanup site
✓ Set up the sauna trailer + tents
✓ Run a cleanup
✓ Eat burgers together
✓ Sauna together
✓ Pack up — and repeat!
Simple. Flexible. Strong. Winter-proof.
And most importantly: community first, environmental impact always.
🛶 We also got our kayaks and raft back — not in great shape
While we are grateful to have our equipment back, we won’t sugarcoat it:
Many kayaks were mishandled and damaged
Rack structures were broken or put together incorrectly
Our raft has structural damage and will require real repairs
This damage occurred during Oslo Havn’s unnecessary confiscation, and we will be holding them liable for it.
That process is underway.
But as always:
We adapt. We rebuild. We move forward.
📆 We now have until December 15th to move
This gives us a bit more breathing room, even if:
it would have been far easier to move in mid-November,
as we were already doing voluntarily before Oslo Havn stopped us.
But we will manage —
because we always do. 👊
🚀 What happens next
Now we shift into full gear to:
✓ Repair damaged equipment
✓ Restore the raft
✓ Replace missing towing ropes
✓ Establish our new base of operations
✓ Prepare the sauna trailer & tents for mobile cleanups
✓ Launch
Fjord CleanUP 2.0 in mid-January
The aim is:
Bigger, cleaner, more flexible, and more fun community cleanups than ever before.
❤️ Thank you to everyone who has seen through the noise
We want to sincerely thank every single one of you who has supported us, stood with us, and understood how surreal it has been for Oslo’s largest and most consistent community-driven cleanup organisation to be treated this way throughout the past year.
Your messages, your presence, your belief in us —
that is what kept this ship afloat.
🤝 As for the future…
We are ready to put this chapter behind us.
But —
it will take some time, real conversations, and genuine apologies from certain organisations before we can consider collaborating again.
We’re not closed off.
We’re not bitter.
At the end of the day:
Pollution affects us all.
The fjord belongs to everyone.
And the only real solution is teamwork.
We’ll always be open to rebuilding bridges when the time is right.
💚 Enough talk. Let’s clean.
A new chapter begins now.
Stronger. Smarter. More united.
See you at the next cleanup —
in January, with a whole new setup and renewed energy.
Onwards and upwards,
The Fjord CleanUP Team
