From Hollywood training at the American Film Institute to becoming one of Norway’s top directors – Hallvard Braein has built a career defined by passion and energy.

He made his breakthrough with the box office hits Børning 1–3, which won multiple Amanda Awards including Best Picture and The Audience Award. His documentary The Giant earned three awards at the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund, while his latest feature Gold Run set an all-time streaming record on Viaplay.

His keynote, “Fast cars and Herring. Financing and making movies in Trøndelag”, gives a unique look at the challenges and opportunities of building major film projects outside Norway’s biggest cities.
