We’re selling our maritime piracy/security database
As we are winding down our maritime security business, we’re selling our most important tool for documenting and assessing maritime security events; primarily acts of sea piracy, armed robberies and - more recently - Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. The database is one of the most comprehensive in the world. It contains data from 01 JAN 2009, and is current and up to date. Data entry is easy, and the API can be shared “everywhere”.
We have distributed the data through our long-term partner, Navtor – leaders in electronic navigation – and through our apps in Google Play and the AppStore. All information contained in the database is source referenced. We have used the dataset and its visualising tool (map) extensively in risk assessments for our clients.
We believe this is a great opportunity for government security agencies, marine/war risk insurers or private maritime security companies to acquire one of the most extensive and user-friendly databases covering the topic of piracy and serious maritime crime.
Asking price: 8,000,000 NOK – eight million Norwegian Krone. We will however consider bids from serious, credible and competent buyers.
Please send us your Expression of Interest by 15 MAY 2024. Please send us your Expression of Interest by 15 MAY 2024. We will shortly after we receive your message send you a presentation of the database and our company. Expression of interest does not bind you in any way. It’s just an indicator for us to conclude whether we should proceed with a formal sales and bidding process.
Note: We will only respond to and consider expressions of interest/bids from identifiable parties.
Kind regards,
