Today many Norwegians enjoy a day off, as Ascension Day is a public holiday in Norway. This Christian holiday commemorates the belief that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven.

The Photo Contest of Norwegian Guide Service has officially begun!

Our guides are invited to participate with the photos they take during their tours with NGS through the season of 2026.

This first photo is taken by Marika, and it's of course the iconic Stegastein viewpoint. She took this picture while guiding in Flåm on a lovely day!
