Every piece carefully placed, every shelf filled with potential. Once the kiln door closes, fire and time take over. The transformation is out of my hands – minerals react, textures shift, and the natural glaze from the Woudagemaal silt reveals its unique character.

No two firings are ever the same, and that’s what makes ceramics so magical. Now, we wait.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes moment of me putting the final touches on this cup before it heads into the kiln for its bisc firing. After shaping and drying, it’s time to refine the details and ensure every curve is just right.
