Why not to design at 3Am while on synth diy zoomies.. 🐈‍⬛⚡️ill take a closer look at this monster of pcb fix that became quite the untertaking! Grrrrr!

This was my first take on a clock divider and sequencer control center for circuit bend toys and hardware hacked machines somewhere 2024, made it didnt work and has been looking at me for ages to workout what I messed up (spoiler. A lot!)

Ohhhhh jup started at 3am or so, just kept adding things to what was a simple schematic: 2 build in LfO’s why not?! Ah maybe an option for external trigger sync and buildin 40106 schmittie trigger. Cv and gate out but WHY not add another patchbay for maybe future lols!? And vactrols and doodles and jaj. Early morning it is.

Send it to the manufacturer no idea whats gonna happen ground planes unconnected, wrong chips ordered (40174 instead of 4017 but im getting glasses soon;) oh why would one want to connect the +8 V from the regulator to the chips, would be handy… sure! 🥸

I dont know hope this story prevents you from making makin my idiot mistakes, but honestly will probably do this again and it’s the way it goes sometimes😂 let this be a start of a new series which is “Fixing inventions Veerle build that failed” or something, but with more why and how it got fixed.

Lifes trial and error.

Now it works and its a mess everywhere.

Again.

Bye!

It’s the season of skills and knowledge exploration, and that means… its time for another PCB DESIGN COURSE in Kicad at ⚡️

Ever wanted to turn your breadboard chaos into something a bit more solid? Learn step-by-step how to design your own circuit board using KiCad, where we cover schematic designing to PCB layouts that are ready to order!

What you’ll learn:
• KICAD basics + librairy management
• Building a simple 555 timer or drone circuit together
• Linking symbols to footprints
• Creatinf a footprint/symbol from scratch
• Routing traces + layout strategy in the PCB editor
• Common mistakes + insider tips and tricks by Veerle
• How PCB manufacturing actually works and looks into their requirements.

😎Why design your own PCB?
Because it’s satisfying to make something that lasts and is somwhat stable, repeatable, and ready to share or sell. Once you get it, you’ll see PCB design isn’t that scary at all. This course covers all the basics of this process wheter you want to make pcb’s for soundmachines, retro gaming carteiges, household appliances and gadgets, we all make the same design and then you can apply that knowledge to your own project after the course.

This workshop is for anyone with basic electronics knowledge who wants to move beyond the breadboard, and had some prior knowledge in the basics of electronics, components and schematic reading.

📍 Workshop on 29th of November 10:00-16:00
📍 Workshop on 17th of January 10:00-16:00

Both are the same workshop, but given on different days.

€65 regular / €50 student

Small group learning! Max 8 people so limited space.
All day course, bring your own lunch! :)

In English, if your english is not so good but you really want to join, let me know we can see whats possible.
