Sounds Like Touch
The performance at Rewire closed with a playful chaos of bouncing balls, by Junying Wu (), Anna Bielska () and Alessandro Miele ().
During Tactology Lab, the artists became fascinated by the back-and-forth motion of ping-pong balls and how their movement gradually diminishes, similar to the way a pendulum slows down.
From this curiosity, the idea emerged to develop custom-built shooters to launch hundreds of ping-pong balls into the air, letting them hit metal plates to create sound and visuals.

This work is the result of Tactology Lab 4, a structured programme spanning multiple days that brings artists and creators together to explore new ways of tactile interaction with electronics.

katarina kadijeviÄ (), Nina (Alex) Buurman and Niek van der Veer (.vd.veer) have been creating an âentityâ that responds to human touch, creating a feedback loop between participant and object.
The project began as an open exploration: creating something that doesnât necessarily look alive, yet gradually evokes a sense of life. Inspired by how people instinctively attribute emotions to robotics, the artists focus on how movement and behaviour can suggest aliveness.

You are very welcome to experience the results of their collaborative process during Tactology Lab 4: MOTION at on Sunday April 12, 15:00 - 16:00 đThe Grey Space in the Middle (), The Hague
