ECHO - from residue to form

What happens when we start to play with aluminium, pattern and weaving?
For Echo, I used aluminium tubes as an integrated weaving material, transforming discarded aluminium through color and pattern, and merging rigidity with tactility.

Resulting in a series of three woven aluminium objects.

Some of this week’s textile experiments!
Combining different printing techniques to create textile studies that help HKU Fashion students integrate multiple techniques into their textile explorations. The aim is to encourage them to generate as many variations as possible, as the most interesting outcomes often emerge where they’re least expected. “Failure” is usually where the work becomes truly interesting… 🫶🏼🥰
