Custom tattoo of a gallus (pl. galli/gallae) - a priest/priestess of the Phrygian goddess Cybele that was incorporated in the Ancient Rome - with their symbols - a crown, a tambourine and a pine branch. But you probably wonder - who is that?

Since I’m not a specialist in that topic, I had to do my research before I even started drawing. Without going into details, those were transgender/nonbinary figures in the Ancient Rome society - AMABs who neutered themselves during the ritual “The Day Of Blood” and wore feminine clothes and hair. But I really recommend reading about it more broadly (Wikipedia’s article is kinda poor).

After doing my research, my goal was to draw an androgynous character that will embody different masculine and feminine traits at the same time. It was quite challenging, but I feel like I achieved my goal 🖤 what do you think? 👀
