While standing by the window with my toddler Hala, I saw a young woman walking past, proudly wearing a keffiyeh. My heart lit up. Without hesitating, I called out, “Nice scarf! Free Palestine!”

She smiled. I smiled. And in that brief exchange, something stirred in me—hope. I knew that my words or her scarf wouldn’t save the people of Palestine, but in that moment, solidarity felt powerful.

A few days later, I received a package in the mail: a beautiful poster, and on the back, the kindest handwritten note—from that very same young woman.

Not just for the thoughtful gift but also for standing up for Palestine when so many still choose silence.

You reminded me that even small acts of courage can ripple outward.

Last weekend I reunited with some old friends I travelled with about 15 years ago...it seems like a lifetime ago I made beautiful journeys with . Grateful for all the lessons learned during the Edukans Educational Exchange Programs to India, Ethiopia and Malawi and the friends I made there ❤
