The poetry of 16th century Hindu mystic poet Meerabai is timeless and exemplary in expressing Devotional love. In the poem “Mere to Giridhar Gopala”, Meerabai declares her love for her beloved Lord Krishna who is the one and only love of her life. This bhajan composition has been passed on by the Late Shree Koustuv Ray, who was my teacher. The composition is set in Raag Madhuvanti , which has a very distinct romantic flavor. The video was produced by DesiYUP and was shot by Flamboyant Media in the prestigious concert hall De Doelen in Rotterdam. Hope you enjoy it!

CODARTS Exam_part 3 The final piece of the concert was a fusion piece between Indian and Flamenco music, based on Raga Bhairavi, which is in a scale that is used a lot in Flamenco music as well. The piece is called Tarana Tientos. Tarana being a popular category of compositions in Indian classical music where only meaningless syllables are used as lyrics, and Tientos is a slow melancholic type of song used in Flamenco where the singer and guitarist engage in a dialogue. I was accompanied by Anoush Saadat, Yama Sarshar, Sathyam Sheoratan and Deniz Schelfi. The video is uploaded on my YouTUBE channel, and I hope you enjoy it!
