Honours Science Conference
The future of science lies in the young researchers of today. As such, the Honours Science Conference will introduce you to several young and talented researchers who are active at Erasmus University.
Our first young researcher is Marien Lievaart, who is currently pursuing a PhD in Experimental Psychopathology at the Department of Psychology. In particular, he will present his research on the (neuro)cognitive aspects of dysfunctional anger. Before starting his PhD, Marien studied Psychology at Erasmus University and also participated in the Erasmus Honours Programme in the year 2008-2009.
Our next two young researchers are part of the Young Erasmus (YE) network. YE is a network of young scientists at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). It aims to form and strengthen a network of excellent researchers at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, particularly strengthening interdisciplinary partnerships and contacts among excellent young researchers.
The first of these two researchers is Menno van Zelm. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology at Erasmus MC, and his main research focus is on Adaptive Immunity. Dr. Van Zelm holds a PhD in Immunology from Erasmus MC and a MSc in Biology from Utrecht University.
Our final researcher presenting is Andrea Woltman. She is Associate Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Erasmus MC and she is the Course Director Bachelor Medicine of the Erasmus MC. She studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leiden and also obtained her PhD training in Leiden at the Leiden University Medical Center. She started her own research group at the Erasmus MC in 2006, where her research is focused on immunology, especially on dendritic cells and chronic viral hepatitis. Since 2013, she is the chair of Young Erasmus.
