Good Vibrations jukebox restorations

Now here’s something you don’t see every day. It’s a quite rare Rowe-AMI / Canteen HBE-200 Background Music System. These were built from 1960 to 1962. Not very glamourous, but apparently, just about a hand full of these units are known having survived the scraphammer.
It is a background music system for factories, shopping centers, restaurants etc. It has a unique continue playing mechanism which plays every record one after another, based on an AMI Continental 2 mech.

When you fill it with 100 of the original Customusic Library records it plays 600 tunes. These records play at 33 rpm and have three songs on each side. Every now and then these records appear on eBay.

This unit is in very original ‘barn-find’ but good restorable condition and will be auctioned by the Dutch Auction Company on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

One of the last projects to be finished before the end of the year. This lovely original AMI finally needed a technical overhaul. And that after only 65 years of playing and so far only being serviced. Now, with every availabe upgrade fitted it’s ready for another 65 years. At least.
