A) Satan is an accuser of the saints (see Rev. 12:10). He shows us our sins and brings us to despair. He tells us that this is the way we are and that there is no hope of change for us.

B) The Holy Spirit shows us our sins in the blessed floodlight of the finished work of the Cross. He tells us Jesus died for these sins and bore the punishment and that He lives and is willing to make us more than conquerors. He [Jesus] cleanses us with His blood and gives us victory.
