Although we won't get the GR Yaris in the US, Toyota is quenching our thirst for a hot hatchback with the new GR Corolla. Rumored to use the same turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine as the Yaris, the GR Corolla could have nearly 270 hp and a manual transmission when it debuts later this year.

Pininfarina calls it an electric Luxury Utility Vehicle (e-LUV) and says it has also been heavily influenced by the world of luxury yachts. It has not issued any powertrain figures or performance data, although it’s likely to have been designed around the 120kWh battery in the Battista, as well as at least some of that vehicle’s electric-motor units.
