Soul Trusting Touch

Let's clarify a common misconception about how emotions and trauma are stored in the body. Emotions or trauma are not physically stored in body parts like fascia, the PSOAS muscle, or scars, but rather, these feelings are processed and retained by the brain. The brain creates associations between specific body areas and emotional stress, leading to physical tension in areas like the traps or stomach. While it's often said that emotions are "stored" in tissues, this is a simplification. In reality, relieving tension in these areas can temporarily alleviate mental health symptoms and may feel like an emotional release. This is due to the brain's focus on connections and patterns, particularly within the limbic system, which handles emotional processing. The concept of "emotion stored in tissues" is a simplified way to describe the complex relationship between our emotions and physical sensations.
