On October 22, Dr. Anna L. Smith delivered an insightful exploring how the molten salt reactor technology could positively contribute to the use of .

Anna highlighted the limitations of conventional nuclear fuels, such as solid ceramic uranium oxide, and presented molten salt reactors as a promising alternative. These reactors use liquid fuel, offering inherent hashtag by design and producing less long-lived radioactive waste. A key challenge for advancing this technology lies in and modeling the chemical behavior of molten salt fuel, an area where Anna and her team are making groundbreaking progress. Their research underscores the potential of molten salt reactors to serve as a safe, sustainable base-load energy source for the future.

After 3 years since our last visit to France, we were excited to return to Paris to meet local TU Delft alumni and those visiting the start-up conference on a boat on the Seine.

The Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland - RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) and the 4TU federation organised a start-up mission to the VivaTech conference in Paris to support promising Dutch start-ups in their international exposure and network. The mission includes 20 Dutch regular start-ups and 2 start-ups per Dutch technical university. This seemed to us as a perfect opportunity to bring together local alumni in Paris, the RVO and part of the Dutch start-up community for a networking event.
