Cancer Support Netherlands

✨Another quarter is behind so let’s take a look at all you need to know from Q2:
💙 We celebrated our very first birthday with our incredible community on the Amsterdam canals. It was a day full of laughter, happy tears, music from our friends (choir people), and hope for all that's still to come. We felt so grateful for everything that we have achieved and the community that we CSN has become.
📈 Our online community grew by 300%! Every new follower means an opportunity for us to help change someone’s cancer journey in hope to provide support and community for them.
🎨 We hosted our Life-Changing Creativity Workshop: The Secrets of Drawings, led by Carol Greenshields in Amsterdam, where we discovered how drawing can help express emotions when words tend to fail us. Thank you for everyone who joined, it was so much fun!
To everyone who joined us, supported us, collaborated with us, or simply followed along, we owe you a massive thank you. You are helping us build something truly special.
Here's to an even bigger second half of the year. We can't wait to share what's coming next 🩷💜💙🩵💚💛

Not every community starts from a plan.
Sometimes, it starts from something deeply personal - and the courage to turn that into something that can support others.
What exists today is the result of that first step, and everything that followed because of it.
A reminder of how much one idea can grow, and how many people it can reach. 💛

Some moments stay with you long after they’re over.
This was one of them - unexpected, joyful, and full of energy in a way that’s hard to describe unless you were there.
A reminder of how powerful shared experiences can be - even the ones you don’t see coming. 💛

Some stories stay with you.
Not because they’re loud, but because they’re real - raw, honest, and shared with courage.
Moments like these remind us why spaces like this matter, and how much can shift when people feel safe enough to speak and be heard.
Thank you for bringing your voice, your story, and your perspective into this community. 💛

A year ago, CSN started with a simple idea: no one should have to go through this alone.
Moments like these are a reminder of why this community exists, and why it matters.
Here’s to everything that’s been built - and everything still to come. 💛
One year ago, Cancer Support Netherlands started with a simple intention:
to create space for people affected by cancer to pause, reflect, and feel less alone.
Over the past year, we’ve seen how powerful it can be to offer support that is human, accessible, and grounded in connection - especially for those navigating cancer far from home.
Thank you to everyone who has joined, supported, shared, listened, or helped shape this community along the way. We’re grateful for what has been built - and for what continues to grow.

Thank you to everyone who joined our workshop Life‑changing creativity – The Secrets of Drawings.
It was a special and thoughtful space to pause, create, and explore what can emerge when words are not always enough. Through simple drawings, conversation, and reflection, we saw how creativity can open up new ways of understanding and processing experience.
Grateful for the openness, curiosity, and trust that everyone brought into the room.

At Cancer Support Netherlands, our work is simple at heart.
We create space for people affected by cancer directly or indirectly - to pause, reflect, and connect.
We believe support should feel human, accessible, and non‑judgemental.
We don’t try to fix or advise - we listen, hold space, and walk alongside people in whatever way they need.
Our focus is on connection, understanding, and community - especially for those navigating cancer far from home.

Ovarian cancer is often difficult to recognise, talk about, and diagnose - and too many experiences remain unseen or unheard.
Today, on Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day, we pause to acknowledge everyone living with ovarian cancer, those in recovery, and those carrying its impact long after treatment.
Awareness is about more than facts - it’s about listening, recognising symptoms earlier, and making space for honest conversations and support.💛
