β€’β€’β€’ Local color meet-ups β€’β€’β€’
β€’ present past, possible future β€’

Join us this Thursday 14th September for a introduction to local color and a color & textiles walk around the Amsterdam Nieuwmarkt area!

Together we will discover some of the rich textile past of our neighborhood - uncovering bits of past what’s been there all along all around us, where fibers were once spun, cloths were dyed and β€œcolor checked β€œ, noticing a few color producing plants along the way 🌱 that grow around us, often unnoticed.

Tickets on our link in bio 🌱🌿🌸🌺🌾

🌿🌈 You might have noticed that TextileLab team is currently busy with some serious gardening this year. We are very happy to share more about our Local Color research project.

Local Color is a two-year project researching the conditions for a regenerative city that facilitates the growth of local biochromes to be used for closed-loop, local production on a small city scale.

During this project we want to understand how Amsterdam can nurture biobased dyes, transforming urban spaces into vibrant, community-driven dye-gardens. Together with its local community of plants and color enthusiasts, TextileLab wants to uncover the experience of the endless colorful possibilities coming from local nature through workshops, meet-ups, talks and events to connect and exchange.

Local Color is a project run and coordinated by together with the Biomaterials Studio from the Amsterdam University of Applied Science and B-Corp fashion company .

Stay tuned for updates on the next exciting phases of this colorful project! ✨
