Sinin Nakhle is a researcher, cartoon artist, and storyteller working at the intersection of bodies, platforms, and protest.
He is the creator of the web comic series Beirut By D**e, whose stories have appeared on Netflix, the literary journal nY, and Playwrights Canada Press.
An NWO-funded PhD candidate in Media Studies and Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam, his research explores how political bodies are rendered actionable (mobilized, stigmatized, or weaponized) across digital visual cultures in Lebanon and Palestine.

The setar is an instrument that originated in Persia and it is estimated to date as far back as the 9th century.
This Thursday, we will have the great privilege of listening to Rezaw Keshmir playing traditional music of the Iranian peoples with the setar, connecting us to the wisdom and beauty of this ancient civilization via melody.
There are still some tickets left for Beating Heart of Hope, but be quick if you want to secure a seat for this evening all about friendship in times of crisis and community care.

Rasha Hilwi is a Palestinian writer, storyteller, journalist, editor, and cultural curator. She was born in Akka and is based in Amsterdam. She will be onstage with us at Beating Heart of Hope on April 9 at Bar Blij.
Rasha’s work has been published in major Arabic media platforms and magazines, with several pieces translated into English and Dutch. Her first nonfiction book, exploring themes of motherhood and home, will be published later this year by Khan AlJanub, a publishing house based in Berlin.
