Some places quietly change the course of your life.

This week I attended my final classes at Patrick and Gosta’s yoga studio in the Jordaan.

It was there that the foundation of my path as a yoga teacher was laid. In 2014, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training, and so much of what I share today has its roots in that studio.

The Jordaan studio itself has now closed its doors, but thankfully the journey continues Downtown and in the North. The walls may be gone, but the teachings, the teachers, and the sangha live on.

Returning there over the past months felt like coming home. A reminder that no matter how much life changes, some place and some people remain part of who you become.

As someone whose mind easily races in a hundred directions, yoga has always been the place where I return to myself. Not because it quiets my mind completely, but because it reminds me that I don’t have to chase every thought. That lesson has shaped not only my teaching, but my life.

Deep gratitude to Patrick, Gösta, and everyone who has been part of this beautiful community. I’m looking forward to continuing the journey together 🕉️ 🙏

1 - The diagnosis

At 36, I found out my brain had a name for the way it had always worked.
Not relief in the sense of: now everything is solved. More like… recognition. As if someone finally said: I see you. And I see how hard you’ve been trying.

What changed after the diagnosis wasn’t my brain. What changed was how I looked at myself.

Not fixing. Discovering.

2 -The misconception

“I think I have a bit of ADHD too — I’m pretty chaotic.”

I hear it often. And I understand why. But there’s a difference between being occasionally scattered - and having a nervous system that structurally regulates differently.

ADHD isn’t a deficit. It isn’t a disorder. It’s a different kind of wiring.

Not trying harder. Understanding how your system works.

3 - The body

What nobody tells you after an ADHD diagnosis: it lives in your body too. In how your nervous system responds to stimulation. In the chronic tension that builds when you’ve spent years holding yourself together.

That’s where I work. Not with protocols. But with learning to be present in your own body.

Space to simply be who you are.

4 - The hormones

Nobody told me ADHD gets louder when your hormones start to shift. I noticed it in myself. Things I had learned to manage suddenly felt bigger.

Many women only discover they’re neurodivergent in this phase - because the hormones that were masking symptoms start to fall away.

Recognition is where better self-care begins.
Know someone this resonates with? Feel free to share. 🤍

5 - The invitation

There’s no standard approach for a non-standard brain. How many people have spent years trying to fit themselves into systems that simply weren’t made for them?

I was one of them.

Now I work with people who want to discover what works for their brain, their body. No fixed method. No labels.

Just: what works for you. Send me a message. 💛

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
- Viktor Frankl

Today is Liberation Day 🕊️
Viktor Frankl — psychiatrist, neurologist, and Holocaust survivor - lost almost his entire family in the concentration camps. And yet he gave us one of the most powerful lessons on the human capacity to heal.

It’s something I come across again and again in therapy: you can’t always change a situation. But you can change the way you look at it. Not as a bypass. Not as toxic positivity. But as a real, deep shift - from the inside out.

That’s not a small thing. That might just be the most courageous thing there is.

Is there something in your life right now that’s asking you for this kind of shift? Save this one for the days when it’s hard to remember. 🌿

Happy Liberation Day. 🕊️❤️

I move your body.
You do nothing.
That’s exactly the point.

One of the things I use in my sessions is inspired by the Träger Approach — a method where the body is gently rocked and moved so the nervous system can learn to let go. Arms, legs, head, spine. Not to fix anything. But to experience that letting go is safe.

For people who’ve been carrying tension so long they can’t feel it anymore — this is often a revelation.
Oh. It can feel like this.

With ADHD, autism, or simply a nervous system that’s always worked a little harder than most — the restlessness often lives deeper than thoughts. It lives in the tissue. In the way you hold your shoulders. In what happens when someone lifts your arm and you don’t immediately let go.
That’s where I work.

Curious what this feels like? Send me a DM.
