European Student Think Tank
24/06/2026
Another important European Student Think Tank (EST) initiative took place in a European capital on June 12, 2026, as EST Ambassador to Greece, Maria-Ioanna Dritsa, in partnership with Balkan Youth Cooperation, brought together young people for the interactive workshop “European Youth Policy Lab: AI in Action” in Athens. The event formed part of EST’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people and fostering dialogue on the role of artificial intelligence in European youth policy.
During the event, students, professors, and young professionals exchanged innovative ideas regarding the extensive use of AI in academia and beyond. The workshop examined the ethical use of AI, focusing on matters related to authenticity, integrity, and digital accountability. By the end of the lab, each participant created their own mini-policy brief on a chosen subject, utilizing AI as a supportive tool while learning how to prompt effectively and verify sources.

🌍 How can a 33-kilometre-wide strait affect energy prices, inflation and supply chains across Europe?
The Strait of Hormuz has long shaped geopolitics and continues to influence Europe’s energy security. From historical tensions to today’s uncertainty, this strategic chokepoint remains vital for global energy flows and European supply chains.
⚡ Diversifying energy sources, routes and partners is no longer just an energy policy objective.
🛢️ As recent events have shown, reducing dependence on vulnerable supply routes is essential for Europe’s resilience, energy security and strategic autonomy.
