Als we over het verleden praten dan gebruiken we vaak het perfectum. Het perfectum heeft twee elementen: het participium aan het einde van de zin en het hulpverbum ‘hebben’ of ‘zijn’. Sommige verba hebben ‘hebben’ als hulpverbum, andere verba hebben ‘zijn’ als hulpverbum. Hoe weten we of we het hulpverbum ‘hebben’ of ‘zijn’ moeten gebruiken? When we talk about the past in Dutch, we often use the perfect tense. The perfect tense has two elements: the participle (at the end of the sentence) and the auxiliary verb ‘hebben’ or ‘zijn’. Some verbs use ‘hebben’ as an auxiliary, while other verbs use ‘zijn’. How do we know with what verbs we should use ‘hebben’ and with what verbs ‘zijn’?
