Indigenous Liberation Movement presents:
Indigenous Liberation Day - Young Elders Resilience 2025

On October 12th, we gather as Indigenous Liberation Movement to commemorate Indigenous Liberation Day. This day serves as a powerful reminder of our history, resilience, and the enduring spirit of Indigenous Peoples around the world. 12 October 1492, is the day that Columbus invaded our lands.

As we reflect on the impact of colonization, we also celebrate the strength and wisdom of Indigenous womanhood, youth and elders.

Indigenous women have been the backbone of our communities, guardians of our traditions, and leaders in the fight for justice and sovereignty.

Their voices and stories are integral to our movement, guiding us back to our ancestral values, knowledge, teachings, and sacred ceremonies.

We encourage Indigenous young elders to play a central part in our teachings.

We created an ancestral portal together for the past, present and future.

Since 2018 is Indigenous Liberation Movement organizing for 12 October. We invite all to support Indigenous Liberation Movement next year!

This is our collective video! Follow us and join our Indigenous Liberation Movement!

Sugarcane (2024)

SUGARCANE, the award-winning debut feature documentary from Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie, is a groundbreaking investigation into an Indian residential school, shedding light on years of forced separation, assimilation and abuse that Indigenous children experienced at the hands of Church and government. This urgent and timely film brings the hidden story of cultural genocide to audiences worldwide while celebrating the resilience of Native people as they work to overcome cycles of intergenerational trauma.
