Glorious moments in Amsterdam yesterday where I was able to celebrate Philip Glass’ anniversary by playing for so many friends and new faces. 😊
I played Metamorphosis and The Riesman Files, a selection of film music transcribed for piano by PG’s long time collaborator Michael Riesman and personally made available by him to me for this occasion. I played selections from Neverwas, Truman Show, Notes on a Scandal and the complete suite from La Belle et La Bete. Beautiful scores, at some points demanding but very rewarding because of the almost orchestral sound and very pleasing by the overwhelming enthusiasm from the audience.
