🐯 The six tigers are now safe at AAP!

After leaving Germany, Saphira and her five cubs have arrived at AAP Spain. They are doing well, although it is only natural that they are still a little nervous. A new chapter is beginning for them, during which they will receive all the care they need and as much time as they require to settle into their new home.

We’re delighted to be part of their recovery, and we're glad that this story has a hopeful future. 💚

Because sugar gliders are small creatures, many people think they are suited for life in captivity – but this isn’t true.

Sugar gliders are extremely social animals that live in large groups in forested habitats. If kept alone, they can demonstrate depressive behaviours and may even harm themselves.

The best place for sugar gliders is in the wild, among their own kind. However, many animals end up as pets and eventually need to be taken in. In this video, you’ll see something special: two sugar gliders at AAP meeting for the first time. A small step toward a new and better life with others of their kind.

A Positive List would standardise the laws about which animals can legally be kept as pets across EU member states, reducing the number of wild animals that suffer in the pet trade.
