A CALL FOR JUSTICE, PEACE, AND RESPECT FOR OUR RELIGIOUS LEADERS

We received with deep concern the news surrounding Khalifa, a man widely known as a humble, peaceful scholar whose life has always reflected service to humanity, dialogue, and restraint.

There are different accounts regarding his arrest, some say it was the DSS, others the EFCC. Regardless of the agency involved, what truly matters is justice, fairness, and respect for human dignity.

Khalifa is not a man of violence. He is a man of peace. He is not an enemy of the state. He is a servant of humanity.
Nigeria is a country where over 70% of the Muslims are followers of the Tijjaniyya Sufi Order, a path historically rooted in peace, tolerance, and spiritual discipline. The continued disrespect, intimidation, or silencing of respected religious leaders under any guise raises serious concern about the direction of our politics and governance.

We therefore call upon the Government and all relevant security agencies to:

1. Act with fairness and transparency
2. Respect religious freedom and diversity
3. Release Khalifa, or at the very least, ensure due process and justice prevail.

This is not a call for chaos.
This is not a call for hatred.
This is a call for justice, peace, and mutual respect.

I urge all Tijjaniyya followers and lovers of justice, across Nigeria and beyond, to raise their voices peacefully and lawfully, so that truth may prevail and justice may reign.

Silence in the face of injustice helps no one.
Peaceful advocacy is our strength.

May Allah guide our leaders, soften hearts, and grant justice to the oppressed. Ameen.

Muhammad S.a.w prophethood began during his marriage to Khadija, when he received the first of God’s revelations through the Angel Gabriel that left him frightened, strained and feeling alone when no one believed in him. Khadija comforted her husband and encouraged him during the most difficult days of his life. She bore him six children. He loved no one more than Khadija during his lifetime.
