TOBI AMUSAN

A Case Of Proper Preparation

It's no more news that the reigning track and field Nigerian queen is Tobi Amusan who has just won it all in her niche sport --- 100metre hurdles.
She broke the world record twice in a day !!
Clocking 12.12seconds in the Semis and 12.06 in the just concluded World Athletics Championship 2022 and now she just broke another in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022 !!

But did all this just HAPPEN??

Tobi's journey started in Warri, Nigeria at the African Youths Athletics Games in 2013 while she was just 19years Old ! She won a silver.

She pushed on, and also grabbed another Silver in Gabon later in the African Youth Games!
Today, she has amassed about 14 medals : 11gold, 2Silver and 1bronze medal.

Tobi is a member of the Buga Tigers Athletics Club, coached by Lacena Golden Clarke and Mika Laaksonen.

LESONS FOR THE NIGER DELTA

It becomes pertinent to sustain and improve these accomplishments by preparing a new set of youths to take over the reins.

A well funded school sports system, regular Regional and National championships,with Spartan coaching will help ensure our continued success.
