WHO SHOULD BE A TEACHER 1: AN INTROVERT OR AN EXTROVERT
I read about a teacher who was sacked because she is an introvert. The school authorities felt she should be in profession that has nothing teaching even though she has taught in other schools for a while. This affected her emotions and she felt they were been unfair to her.
So this got me thinking. Is being an introvert or an extrovert a quality for the teaching profession.
I remember once a parent said she was not comfortable with me being her child's teacher because I am calm, reserve and quiet. . Anyway, I later taught her child for 3years and she loved the progress she saw in him.
I have a friend who had problems with the head of a school because she is an extrovert. She was really good with kids and I always admire the way she works with children. But head of school didn't see her qualities but only saw that she was an extrovert.
My question; should temperament matter when looking for a good teacher?
