𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞?

In the past two (2) weeks, a lot has happened that has exposed our state as a Nation. The true motive of those we gave power to have been revealed.

This revelation has brought to light the strength of the youths, and to tell both the young and the old that our strength is no longer “audio”. The world can feel it like the wind: and it is unstoppable.

The ‘Leaders of tomorrow’ have started leading already. We don't need to be elected to decide what we should see as a people.

However, a lot of questions are roaming our minds, which we can only vent on social media. Questions like:
“Do they care about us?”
“Should we leave this country for them?”
“Is there any hope left”?

The harder question will be:
𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥?
Or put differently,
𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝙒𝙀 𝙏𝘼𝙆𝙀 𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍 𝙂𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙉𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙀?

But my hidden question as an individual is:
𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙇𝘿 𝙒𝙀 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙉 𝘽𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝙂𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙉𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙀?

I know these questions and many more are roaming your mind, which is why I want us to 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 this evening, by 7 pm (WAT).

Trust me when I say 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗔 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗘, 𝗔 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗘.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗟𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧.

Between March (the beginning of the Total Lockdown) till this very moment, I have been on conference calls, video calls and other virtual meetings with CEOs and top Business owners discussing the kind of staff needed in their comapnies for the new economy we have come into after the lockdown is lifted.

98% of them have agreed to hire people with skills that can work remotely (from anywhere), than people who just have certificates, without skills.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏?

That those who have certificates without corresponding skills will certainly lose their jobs.

NO NEGOTIATIONS!

So, if you only depend on your certificate for a job or to pay your bills with it, your hope may soon be squashed. Certificate on its own may NEVER guarantee a good life.

My advice will be to add some skills to it.

Certificate may open the front door for you (in Naija), but it won't sustain you for long. What sustains you in any organization is how relevant you are to the scheme of things there.

It is imperative therefore, to realize that what gave money yesterday is not giving money today. The tools our parents used on to build the wealth we wish to inherit today, is no more producing wealth.

There is a 🇳 🇪 🇼 🇲 🇴 🇳 🇪 🇾 Your duty is to find it.

Failure to understand this will bring so many into frustration, especially during POST-COVID.
I have a task to bring this to your notice while we still have the time.

I have 2 degrees from a reputable University in Nigeria, but I didn't stop there. I added numerous skills to them so I can be relevant in the marketplace.

The question to ask would be:
𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝘽𝙇𝙀𝙈𝙎 𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙑𝙀?

The market place pays you for solving problems. And guess what! Certificates don't solve problems, 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 does.

𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩...

If you want to succeed in today's world, add some skills to your certificate. But if you want to succeed faster, make sure you add 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 to your skills and your certificate.

It works like magic.
