Successful Nomination as Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate:

A Note of Appreciation

Yesterday, throughout the 369 wards in the State, you turned out organically and massively voted for continuity, peace, unity, growth, and the need for us to ARISE to a Renewed Hope.

You overwhelmingly voted to nominate me as the All Progressives Congress’ Candidate for Governor in the 2027 elections, so we may finish the work we collectively started on May 29, 2023.

Let me use this opportunity again to thank you, my dear people of Akwa Ibom State, for the faith, belief, and trust you have reposed in me to collectively expand the enchanting chapters of the Akwa Ibom story of growth, development, unity and peaceful coexistence.

To our great party, led by the ebullient Stephen Ntukekpo, to our stakeholders, elders, women, youths, students, political groups, civil society organizations, the clergy, and traditional institutions, I say thank you for your support and prayers.

Let me, at this time, thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the fatherly role he has played since we made the Progressive Movement last June to align our State with the Centre. His support has been wonderful and deeply appreciated.

To our son and the Number Three Citizen of Nigeria, the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, I say thank you for the great partnership we have forged to work for peace, unity, and the expansion of our State’s enlightened interest.

To the State Chairman of the APC Primaries Election Committee, Hon. Nwofe Alexander and his team, as well as the Local Primaries Planning Committee led by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, thank you for the great and transparent work you are doing to advance the cause of democracy and good governance.

As I said last night in my acceptance speech, I urge our political class to play politics based on ideas and issues, and not one aimed at heating up the polity, as government is ever ready to ensure the maintenance of law and order.

Thank you again for blessing me with this great moment. I do not take it for granted, and I promise you that I will continue to give my all, fully assured of your support, prayers, and love. So help me God!

FROM COMPUTER SCIENCE TO MUSHROOM QUEEN - Glory Ekanem

...My Journey of Purpose.

Seeing myself featured on Channels Television is a fulfillment of the scripture in Proverbs 18:16 “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”

After graduating from Lagos State University with a Second Class Upper in Computer Science, my dream was to become a networking expert, earn Cisco certifications, and “network the whole world.” But God had a different plan.

I tried my hands on several skills — baking, cosmetics, beads and wire works, basic sewing — yet nothing gave me fulfillment. In 2018, frustrated and directionless, I turned to God and asked, “What is my purpose in life?”

His response was clear: “Go into agriculture.”
Confused but obedient, I ventured into organic farming. Within three months, I became popularly known as Madam Organic for raising poultry, fish, snails, pigs, and rabbits without synthetic drugs, while training others to do the same.

Just when I thought I had found my calling, God said again, “One thing is remaining — Mushroom Farming.”
I laughed it off, questioning, “Who even eats or buys mushrooms?” But in 2020, after countless dreams and divine nudges, I yielded. That single step changed everything.

Within a month, I had trained over 500 farmers. In a year, I became Madam Organic, the Queen of Mushroom, with representatives across all Nigerian states.

Today, five years later, the mushroom business that began in my living room has grown into a world-class enterprise recognized by BBC News and Channels Television. I have trained over 5,000 farmers, youths, women, widows, and students; and I now supply fresh and dry mushrooms, spawn, and ready-to-fruit bags across Nigeria and neighboring countries.

This business has opened doors my degree could not — granting me access to First Ladies, Commissioners, lawmakers, lecturers, and other dignitaries. I have received multiple awards, contracts, and countless opportunities.

Truly, God lifts the poor from the dust and sets them among princes.

I thank my ever-supportive husband, my children, the Golden Governor, the First Lady designate, and every customer and trainee who has believed in me.
