THE PURPORTED DEFECTION OF IKA YPP OFFICIALS: A SHEER DECEPTION BY PDP NAYSAYERS
The attention of the Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization (Ika Chapter) has been drawn to a stage-managed drama of defection that purportedly swept the Ika Chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP). Inasmuch as it is wise to not lend a shoulder of publicity to the poorly scripted and hilariously acted drama, the Ika Chapter of the YPP considers it even wiser to set the records straight, so as to prevent anyone from misleading innocent members of the public.
1. The purported defection was clearly stage-managed. It is a cheap scam perpetrated by one Hon Gabriel Toby, chiefly to deceive and perhaps defraud his paymaster (Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem) who arguably was the producer of the poorly acted drama of deception, especially as was seen in the order of photographs along with the cast.
2. We wish to state clearly that, of all the actors of the Gabriel Toby led drama, only one Samuel Johnny Akpan was an official of the Ika Chapter of the YPP. He was supposed to ACT as the deputy chairman. However, it is at this point worthwhile to inform the public about certain things concerning Mr Akpan, the supposed deputy chairman.
(a) He was never actively involved in the activities of the Party, in and outside Ika.
(b) The supposed deputy chairman had (from the inception of the party in Ika) always wanted to USURP five key positions of the party in Ika, with the mischievous intention of sharing one to his girlfriend and the rest to members of his cooperative society who he claims to be in control of.
Against the supposed deputy chairman's desires, particularly because the YPP is a Party that stands for fairness, equity and justice, we the Party Executives in Ika stood our grounds and denied Mr Samuel Akpan his mischievous and overly selfish demands. This has always been the reason for his unending bitterness.
As it is today, we in Ika Chapter of the YPP are more than happy to see Hon. Gabriel Toby help cut off the cancer in our own party, even as he unfortunately plants the same cancer in his own party, the PDP. Funny, but sad for the PDP. A tragicomedy, indeed.
3. In the poorly acted tragicomedy of defection, from the supposed letters of resignation, many cases of sheer impersonation abound.
(a) One Mrs Goodness James Asukwo claimed to have been the women leader of the YPP in Ika. As funny as her claim sounds, it is completely false. The Ika Chapter of the YPP has no human being with that name as the women leader. The women leader is always Mrs. Akemini Godwin Idungafa.
In that thread of Toby's drama, one Emmanuel Japhet Inyang claimed to be the Ward Chairman of the YPP in Achan Ward 1. As seen in his supposed letter of resignation from the position of the ward chairman, Mr Inyang had earlier claimed to be the ward chairman of the YPP in Achan Ward 3.
While we refuse to pay no attention to the infantile drama of confusion here, we wish to state clearly that the Ika Chapter of the YPP does not have any ward chairman anywhere in Ika by the name Emmanuel Japhet Inyang. The chairman of our party in Achan Ward 1 (against Inyangs claim) has always been Mr Dopse Friday, and it remains so until date. We can now see clearly how unrelated these names are - another evidence of Gabriel Toby's ineptitude in his script acted upon by his co-opted actors.
4. In addition, the general public must be informed that almost all the actors of Toby's stage-managed defection were no official members of the YPP.
It is worthy to note that even some of the purported defectors are registered members of the APC in Ika, as duly confirmed by the Chapter Chairman of the APC in Ika. We know that miracles are possible, but how can members of the APC defect from the YPP? A tragicomedy, indeed.
5. Furthermore, we wish to remind the leaders and scriptwriters of the poorly-acted drama of defection that it requires a highly politically intelligent person to successfully stage the drama that they made a very poor attempt on. At least, some sort of research needed to be conducted before staging the woefully failed drama.
If Toby himself did any research before embarking on the failed drama of defection, he would have at least found out that the Ika Chapter of the YPP does not have any position known as unit defenders, as claimed by the supposed defectors. How funny! It seems a scammer also got scammed here. A tragicomedy, indeed.
6. Overall, we wish to state unequivocally that the Ika Chapter of the YPP, together with the Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Council in Ika, is intact and fully operational. We therefore urge members of the public to completely discard the stage-managed drama of defection, as it holds no water against our commitment to giving good governance to the Akwa Ibom people through the election of Distinguish Sen. (Obong) Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) CON as governor come 2023.
God bless you
God bless the YPP
God bless Akwa Ibom State
Signed:
Bishop James Ambrose
Chairman, Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization
Ika Chapter.

Ini PDP Losses Another Heavyweight To YPP
The PDP Ward Chairman of Iwerre ward 5, in Ini Local Government Area, Mr. Archibong Akpan Akpan has withdrawn his membership in the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
The two-term Ward Chairman, Mr. Akpan, while declaring for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in his letter stated that his decision to dump his former party was borne out of his realization that the party was full of deceit and false promises which have angered members of his community.
His letter read in parts, “ The reason I am leaving the umbrella party is because, in 2017 the roofing of Nkari Secondary School Block was awarded and job done and after completion the money was not paid till date”.
“Secondly His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel came to Iwerre and promised the construction of Ukpakon to Okpoto road till date nothing has been done. Because of that the women and Elders from my community placed a curse on me that I and Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong brought the Governor to come and deceive them”.
“Also, after the just concluded primaries elections, stipends given to us as statutory delegates was not given all the members but was given to selected members because of the cabal called ‘SYSTEM’ headed by former Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet”.
Mr. Akpan after careful analysis of the Campaign manifesto of YPP has decided to pitch his tent with the party.
