If you have a computer science student in your family, at church or know one around you, kindly buy that student a laptop. And possibly monitor, link and get the person engaged in some internships while in school. Encourage him/her to be attending BootCamps, join Google Developers Group in his/her Institution (if not yet available, could start one by being active in the one nearest, about a year later, might be guided to establish in his/her institution) or other computing virtual events.
If you're such a student, Follow experts on X (Twitter), Facebooks and LinkedIn. Make these experts willing to mentor you by asking real thoughtful questions, making comments and engaging in their contents. Make yourself visible. Some might be willing to coach if they spot you're intentional about learning regardless of whatever unique circumstance you might have.

The fate of future technology lies in their hands. No field can grow any further without embracing computing. And this might remain till the next few centuries (if we'll last so far). Computing is a core demand for every field of endeavor from manufacturing to fashion and hospitality, transportation and welfare. Yet, it is still a field of its own field. About the only field spreading such tentacles and still maintaining herself, as traditional a field!
