*Our Strength And Courage*

Joshua 1:5-6 (NKJV) - "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage..."

Joshua, the loyal servant of Moses, had suddenly been thrust upon with the responsibility of taking the children of Israel into the promised land that was occupied by enemy nations. He no doubt would have had worries about his abilities and capacity to carry out his assignment as well as fears about the enemies and other unanticipated events.

God however gave him these assuring words in our scripture for today, that provide us - as it did Joshua - with the strength and courage to accomplish our God-given tasks and attain the divine purpose of God for us. God showed Joshua that Moses's successes were not based on Moses's own strengths or abilities, but on the strength of his presence that was with Moses. He went further to allay any residual fears that Joshua might have had, by reassuring that he will not leave Joshua nor forsake him.

Friends, divine presence is what we need to fulfill our destinies, and as his children, that divine presence has been assured us. So don't worry about your future or even your present challenges. Like Joshua, God is telling you to be strong and of a good courage, for he is with you.
