This is a question someone who was making inquiry about the AMAZING WEST TOUR ASKED ME.

When people want to embark on any journey, one of their concerns is security.

With the stories flying on the media about herds men killing in Benue, it is not out of place for people to worry about their safety while travelling on the road in Nigeria.

Since 2002, I have been traveling by road across Nigeria and I will say that road trips in Nigeria is safe.

When I say it is safe, I don't mean that incidence od insecurity doesn't happen, when i say it is safe, I am saying that the probability of an attack is very very unlikely giving the frequency.

In the past 20 years I have travelled to North Central, South West. South East, South South countless times and never have I experienced armed robbery on the road.

In the last two year, I have travelled to Lagos, Delta. Cross Rivers, Enugu, Bayelsa Edo by road.

One time I travel from PH - Benin - Ibadan - Abeokuta - Ijebu-ode and back by road.

There was no incidence of any incidence of insecurity.

Ile-ife - Ijesha

Ile-Ife - Osogbo

Ile-Ife - Idanre

I personally have done my security risk assessment talking to your guides in the area, hoteliers and transporter and the report is that these are some of the safest places in the West.

None of the people I spoke with could recall any robbery, kidnapping or other forms or security issues in the Area.

The Hotel We will be staying in is Owned by the Ooni of Ife and this gives it some sort of immunity as the Ooni is revered in these parts.

So if your had concerns for your safety, be rest assured that you are safe.

I would never be planning a trip to any volatile areas as a security breach will cause a huge dent on the reputation of my business.

What you need to know about the sites we will be visiting on the AMAZING WEST TOUR!

Interesting facts about Erin Ijesha

Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls (also known as Olumirin waterfalls) is located in Erin-odo, Osun State.

It is a tourist attraction located in Oriade local government area, Osun State, Nigeria.

The waterfalls were discovered in 1140 AD by one of the daughters of Oduduwa. However, according to The Nation, "Olumirin waterfall was discovered by hunters in 1140 AD".

Another source has it that the tourist site was discovered by a woman called Akinla, founder of Erin-Ijesha town and a granddaughter of Oduduwa, during the migration of Ife people to Erin- Ijesa.

The name Olumirin was given to the tourist attraction by Akinla, which means (oluwa mirin - another god).

The fall features seven levels, on top of which the village Abake is located. Abake village shares boundary with Ẹfọ̀n-Alààyè in Ekiti State.

The Erin-ijesha Waterfalls is a popular excursion point for schools around the neighbourhood.The natives regard the waterfall as a sacred site and a means of purifying their souls. Festivals were formerly celebrated and sacrifices performed at the site.

Nigerians really need to learn how to cool off and take a break from all the chaos around them.

About two weeks ago I decided to go chill in Calabar and while there I visited Kwa Falls.

It was a public holiday (Muslim) but the fall was empty, I was there from about 11AM to past 4 when I left. I was the only visitor to the fall.

The fall is about 40 minutes away from Calabar city and cost about 5k to and from Calabar.

I kept wondering why people were not there to bath and relax in the serene, calm and peaceful environment which the fall offer.

I honestly look forward to the time when leisure wil move away from hanging out at bars, eating and drinking to spending time with nature.

Trust me, when you spend time with nature, you will surely come back with a healing; you will find clarity, reinvigorated and refreshed.
