Good morning, everyone. Yesterday's Twitter activity was epic. I woke up this morning to see a Twitter war between the 30BG boss and the FC popsi. Anyways, it was lively to see two greats going for each other's throats, but that's not why I'm writing this. I'm very worried about this new generation that calls themselves Gen Z. It's getting worse every day. I just saw the statistics for this year's JAMB, and it's alarming. 76% scored below 200. I'll congratulate the 0.4% that passed 300 and the 24% that scored more than 200. I don't know where we went wrong.
It's disheartening to see so many individuals turning to drugs like w**d and engaging in substance abuse openly. During our upbringing, we wouldn't even dare to consider such behavior in front of our elders, who would swiftly discipline us. The current trend of secondary school s*xcapades among the Gen Z is troubling. They seem to lack accountability for their actions and are easily influenced by societal pressures, leading them to engage in risky behaviors. It's especially concerning when parents themselves contribute to this destructive cycle, as seen in the tragic case of a mother giving her child tramadol to go clubbing. Such actions have devastating consequences, as evidenced by the loss of the child in that scenario.
The examples I'm going to mention are deeply troubling and highlight the extent of the issue. The young woman smoking Sh**ha and blowing smoke in her toddler's face, as well as the young man sharing w**d with his toddler, are clear examples of irresponsible parenting and a lack of awareness of the harm they're causing to their children's health and well-being.
As for the university students engaging in risky behaviors like casual s*x, it's concerning and reflects broader societal trends where some individuals prioritize immediate gratification over long-term consequences.
Blame can be attributed to multiple factors, including millennial parents, societal influences, and inadequate government intervention in addressing these issues. Ultimately, it's a collective responsibility to address these challenges and implement measures to promote healthier lifestyles and values.
Education, awareness campaigns, and stricter enforcement of laws regarding substance abuse and child welfare are essential steps in correcting these behaviors. Additionally, fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and accountability from an early age can help shape future generations into more conscientious and considerate individuals. It's a challenging journey, but with concerted efforts, positive change is possible. Ire oo
