DARK MAY (PART 2)
On our way to the hospital, I phoned my pastor who instructed me to place the phone on his ears. I did as he instructed and he began to pray for him.
As we arrived in the hospital, I jumped out of the wagon and quickly ran into the hospital reception shouting "emergency, emergency". The nurses on duty came out. I literally dragged one of them to the wagon where Aku's body was laid. The other nurses sourced for the doctor on duty who hurriedly came out with gloves and stethoscopes.
"What really happened?" The doctor asked
All eyes were on me to respond to his question
"I found him lying on the floor outside gasping for breath". I muttered.
The doctor continued checking him.
"When did it happen?" The doctor asked again.
"Some minutes ago". I replied
"Are you the father?" The doctor asked inquisitively
"I am his guidance" I replied.
The doctor placed the stethoscope on Aku and shrugged his shoulder. I was forced to ask " Doctor, is everything okay?"
"I am very sorry, your boy is dead". The doctor said. I couldn't believe my eyes. I screamed with so much grief. My neighbours held me trying to console me. Not too long the security walked up to me and said "Oga, we dey sorry sey your pikin die, Abeg, you go help us carry em body comot make we see space".
"This nut is too hard for me to chew". I screamed aloud.
"My guy it has happened please put yourself together. We know it's painful. Please calm down". Abdulrahim whispered.
"Oga B, no amount of cry fit bring your boy back. You don try and we took don try for you. Na God knows why em allow am happen." Ifeanyi said.
"We need to go with you to his parents place to inform them. Please get up." Onyekachi encouraged me.
I finally got up and we drove off the hospital heading to Aku's family house.
