The Real Challenge of being a Field Network Engineer
One of the biggest challenges in this job is showing up to a site and meeting a device you've never touched before — different brand, different interface, different everything.
Nobody tells you this when you start — the moment you're called to a site, the client doesn't care what brand you trained on. They just want the network working.
One day it's Cisco. Next day it's MikroTik. The day after, Ubiquiti or Fortinet. This is the reality of field work.
The good news? Every single one of those devices — regardless of brand, CLI, or GUI — operates on TCP/IP. That protocol doesn't change. Master it, and you have a foundation that works across every vendor you'll ever encounter.
That's what this lab is about. Cisco switches, MikroTik router. Two different platforms, one network — VLANs, routing, NAT, firewall, DHCP — all working together because the protocol is the same underneath.
Beyond the protocol, technology keeps evolving and vendors keep adding unique features. Getting skilled on at least one or two leading brands alongside your core knowledge is no longer optional.
Know the protocol. Expand your brands. Show up ready.
What's the most challenging vendor you've had to work with in the field?

1 Corinthians 15:12-19 NIV
[12] But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? [13] If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. [14] And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. [15] More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. [16] For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. [17] And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. [18] Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. [19] If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

Is there a better option?
I used to have GNS3 VM run on VMware workstation pro on my Ubuntu system but after some updates, the app kept breaking due to Ubuntu kernel version incompatibility.
I started using GNS3 on Windows, but decided to switch back Ubuntu today. I had the raw file of both GNS3 gui and VM, but different versions. I spent almost a whole day fixing it up, because the github account to get the matching versions hasn't been accessible for some days.
After alot of packages and dependencies update and removal, kernel downgrade I got it fixed and stable.
What other hypervisor that can run seamlessly on Ubuntu that won't break when any kernel update is done?

Tried to recreate a real scenario using script.
I created an empty list of registered_users, where a list of usernames will be saved.
This will check a new username name against a pool of saved registered users.
If the user has not registered he will be prompted to do so, and if the username exists, he will be to prompted to choose another name.
I also checked that no name exists the same by using .lower() method as can be seen in the fifth and sixth frame.
On further (while loops, functions, classes), I will make the script better, but for now the continues.
