"It also falls aptly into what we are called to do in the Basic Education sub-sector. If we need to drive and achieve the emergence of the NEW Vision in terms of quality citizenship for tomorrow in this country, then we need to have people who will think along the lines of ownership," he added.
The RSUBEB Chairman disclosed that a strategic design for education which is focused on the child is being developed, and that citizenship formation will become a very critical aspect in the development of the curriculum for both old and new schools across Rivers State in line with the Campaign.
Earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Nsirim stated that RSUBEB holds a critical position, and can mould the character of the young ones to know the values of cherishing their own State.
"We believe strongly that the place to start is at the UBE level, so that no matter what a detractor says to the teacher or child, they would be proud to defend the interests of Rivers State.
"Sensitization along this line will build a reservoir of patriots who will reject partisan and religious divisions and collectively pursue the Rivers interest," he added.
Pastor Nsirim urged RSUBEB to join hands with Governor Nyesom Wike to realise the NEW Vision which he said continues to crystallise daily, with evidential developmental strides.
