ANDONI LGA CHAIRMAN DECLARES CURFEW OVER RISING INSECURITY.

The Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Lucky Promise Otuo, has declared a curfew in parts of the LGA, spanning from Ngo mainland, the administrative headquarters of Andoni, to Ilotombi.

The chairman said the decision became necessary following rising tension and reported cases of unwarranted killings of innocent citizens in some communities within the council area. He noted that the curfew is aimed at restoring calm, preventing further violence, and safeguarding lives and property across the LGA. The curfew is expected to last from 9PM to 6AM.

Hon. Otuo emphasized that the safety of residents remains a top priority of his administration, assuring that proactive measures are being taken to address the deteriorating security situation.

He also strongly condemned the killing of the traditional ruler of Agwut-Obolo community, Chief Alfred Etete, describing the act as unacceptable and barbaric. According to him, the local government is working closely with security agencies to fish out those responsible for the crimes, including individuals allegedly sponsoring criminal activities in the area.

Residents have been urged to comply fully with the curfew directive and cooperate with security operatives as efforts intensify to restore peace and order in Andoni.

HON LUCKY PROMISE OTUO JP OFFICIALLY WELCOME NYSC CORPERS, BATCH A1.

The Executive Chairman, Andoni Local Government Council, Hon Lucky Promise Otuo JP, today the Wednesday 11th February, 2026 extends a warm welcome to another batch of corpers ( Batch A1 ably led by Mr. Kingsley, CLO ) deployed to the LGA.

The Chairman in his formal speech thanked all the corpers for accepting to be in Andoni and promised to give them whatsoever that will make them work effectively and efficiently under a conducive environment.

In the same vein he made a provision for the proper accomodations of the corpers at the council.
"The Chairman while interacting with the Corpers said, I hope your National Youth Service Corps experiences and ideologies will be both impactful and enriching the government, Andoni Council and the people of Andoni".

"You'll engage in community development projects, learn about our culture, and contribute to the Council progress and nation-building. We're committed to making your stay productive and memorable".
