🚨FRSC STOPPED YOU? READ THIS BEFORE YOU REACH FOR YOUR WALLET

What's the most expensive traffic offence you've ever paid for? ₦20,000? ₦50,000? ₦100,000? You may be surprised to learn that many traffic offences already have fixed fines under the law—and they're often far lower than what people end up paying on the road.

Many people assume that once the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stops them, they must pay whatever amount is mentioned. But traffic offences are not determined by fear, roadside negotiations or bargaining. The law already fixes penalties for specific offences.

For example,
☑️Dangerous driving attracts a ₦50,000 fine. ☑️Driving without a valid driver's licence - ₦10,000 ☑️ Overloading a vehicle attracts - ₦10,000.
☑️ Using your phone while driving attracts ₦4,000,
☑️ Forged Documents — ₦20,000
☑️No Fire Extinguisher — ₦3,000
☑️ Seat Belt Violation — ₦2,000
☑️Traffic Light Violation — ₦2,000
☑️ Speed Limit Violation — ₦5,000
☑️ Driving Under Influence — ₦5,000
☑️Preaching/hawk in commercial vehicle - ₦50,000
☑️Under aged driving - ₦2,000
☑️Worn out tyres/No spare tyres - ₦3,000/ ₦2,000

Now here's the part many motorists don't know.
If a fine is issued, payment is meant to be made through approved government payment platforms such as Remita—not directly to an officer on the roadside.

But the bigger risk is not always the money.

Every traffic offence attracts penalty points. Once a driver accumulates 21 points, the driver's licence can be withdrawn. In other words, repeated violations can eventually make you lose your driver's licence.

There's another important fact many motorists don't know. While driving without valid third-party insurance is an offence, the courts have held that FRSC does not have the power to impose or collect fines for that particular offence. The law provides a separate procedure for dealing with it.

So, the next time you're stopped, don't panic. Ask what offence is alleged, know the prescribed penalty, and insist on following the lawful process .

Because knowing the law doesn't just protect your rights—it can save you a lot of money.

Blessing CEO is back in court, and the legal challenges against her continue to grow.

Barely 24 hours after her arraignment over an alleged ₦69.,150,000 fraud, the social media influencer and self-acclaimed relationship therapist was again brought before the Federal High Court in Lagos today the 10th of June,2026 on fresh allegations involving ₦13,00,000 fraud.

According to the EFCC, the new charges stem from claims that members of the public donated money after social media posts allegedly stated that she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer and needed financial support for treatment.

Investigators further allege that documents presented in support of those claims were falsified. The Nigeria Cancer Society is among the petitioners in the matter.

⚖️ The law is clear: obtaining money through false pretence is a criminal offence where it is proven that a false representation was used to induce another person to part with money or property.

That said, these are still allegations. Blessing CEO has pleaded not guilty and remains presumed innocent unless the prosecution proves its case beyond reasonable doubt.

She is also facing separate criminal proceedings involving alleged sums of ₦69,150,000 and ₦36,000,000. If any of the allegations are eventually established in court, the consequences could be significant.

For now, however, her fate rests entirely on the evidence and the decision of the courts. Like , comment, follow and share for more legal updates.

📃YOU DON'T NEED A BIBLE OR QURAN TO TESTIFY IN COURT—HERE'S WHY.

What if I told you that you can testify in court without touching a Bible or Quran? Would that make your testimony invalid?

Not at all.

Many people think everyone must swear on a holy book before giving evidence in court. That's not correct.

Before a witness gives evidence in court, the law is interested in one core thing the "TRUTH". The law wants that person to understand that telling the truth is a serious responsibility.

There are two ways a witness can promise to tell the truth:
✔️Swearing an oath and
✔️ making an affirmation.

When a person swears on oath, they make a promise before God, usually using a Bible or Quran depending on the person's religion.

But not everyone wishes to take a religious oath. Some people have different beliefs, while others simply prefer not to swear on a holy book.

In those situations, the law allows the witness to make an affirmation instead—a formal promise to tell the truth without any religious reference.

And here's the important part:

Whether you swear an oath or make an affirmation, the legal effect is exactly the same.

Once you've sworn on oath or made an affirmation, you are expected to tell the truth. If you knowingly give false evidence, you could be prosecuted for PERJURY a serious criminal offence.

Lie After Oath or Affirmation= PERJURY ⚖️ 🔥

So note the court isn't concerned with whether you choose a Bible, a Quran, or an affirmation.

What matters is your commitment to tell the truth. That's what the law demands. ⚖️
