*Imo State Government, IIRS Renew Revenue MOU with 27 LGAs*
The Imo State Government, through the Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Economy and the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, has renewed a Memorandum of Understanding with the 27 Local Government Areas on the collection and distribution of revenues.
The MOU signing, held today at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, was witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru PhD, representing the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma CON.
Also present were the Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie; Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma; Principal Secretary, Dr. Irene Chima; Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Chuck Chukwuemeka; and Hon. Commissioner for Local Government, Chief Mrs. Rubi Emele, among other top government officials.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of IIRS, Mr. Justice Remijius Okoye, FCA, sensitized the Chairmen on the "One Community, One Revenue Agent (OCORA)" initiative aimed at streamlining tax administration and compliance at the grassroots.

FRSC IMO COMMAND VISITS IIRS TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION IN IMO STATE
The Imo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) paid a courtesy visit to the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) on Monday 29th June 2026.
Led by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Nimota O. Okoro, the visit was to introduce the Sector Commander following her April 2026 deployment and to align with key Stakeholders in Imo State.
The Executive Chairman IIRS, Justice Okoye welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed IIRS’ long-standing, partnership with the FRSC, noting that it has fostered a conducive environment for service delivery in the State. He assured the Commander of a supportive tenure.
The Chairman commended the FRSC Staff working in IIRS.
He raised concerns over the challenges experienced in drivers' licence capturing and number plate supply and urged the Sector Commander to assist in eliminating the challenges
In response, Commander Okoro said that new technology-driven systems have been deployed to streamline licence processing, and pledged to address all concerns.
Justice Okoye thanked the FRSC team and reiterated IIRS’ commitment to supporting taxpayer-friendly facilities. He also appreciated His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the opportunity to serve and advance Imo’s revenue agenda.
