Periods Don't Stop for Conflict!

Responding appropriately to women's menstrual health needs in emergencies should be essential for any humanitarian response.

When women and adolescent girls’ menstrual health needs are not met, they face numerous difficulties managing their periods and experience increased feelings of shame and discomfort.

🌍 On this International Women's Day, let's reflect on how far we have come while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead of us. Gender inequality persists worldwide, woven into our societies through laws, norms and policies, impacting daily life of girls and women all over the world 🌍

As we celebrate the progress made in advancing women's rights, we must also recognize the persistent challenges that continue to hinder equality. From the gender pay gap to the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles and the ongoing struggle to fund female-founded businesses, these issues underscore the urgent need for action.

Investing in women is not only a moral imperative but also a catalyst for accelerating progress towards a more equitable world.

I am very privileged as I work with great women around the world, fighting period poverty. Together we bring solutions like , and to millions of girls and women who still do not have access to good quality menstrual products... and so our mission continues as we are determined to change the status quo and to eliminate period poverty.
