We sincerely apologise for the disappointment, inconvenience, and emotional pain this message may cause you.

In our excitement and deep affection for each other, we moved very quickly with our marriage plans and overlooked one of the most important steps. During our marriage counselling sessions, the clergy asked for our medical reports and compatibility clearance. It was at that moment we realised we had not done the necessary medical checks.

We immediately went for the required tests, genotype, blood group, and other essential examinations. The doctor’s report confirmed that we are not medically compatible for marriage, particularly regarding the risk to potential children.

After deep reflection, honest conversations, and much pain, we have made the difficult decision to call off the wedding. We cannot, in good conscience, bring children into the world who might face a lifetime of health struggles and medical dependency.

This was not an easy choice, but we believe it is the responsible and loving one for everyone involved, especially for the future generation we hoped to raise.

To our dear family, friends, and well-wishers who have already contributed time, resources, money, and emotional support, we are deeply sorry. Thank you for standing by us. We are truly grateful and ask for your understanding during this time.

To everyone preparing for marriage: please do not make the same mistake we made. Take time to do all necessary medical checks (especially genotype and blood group compatibility) early in the process, alongside prayer and counselling.
