For a beginner in CorelDRAW, the first step is understanding the workspace and basic tools before jumping into design work. Here is a simple beginner path:
Step 1: Open CorelDRAW and Know the Interface
Learn these areas first:
Toolbox (Left side):
Pick Tool → Select, move, resize objects
Shape Tool → Edit shapes
Rectangle Tool → Draw boxes
Ellipse Tool → Draw circles
Text Tool → Add text
Property Bar (Top): Changes settings for the tool you are using.
Color Palette (Right side): Used to add colors to designs.
Page Area (Middle): Your working space.
Step 2: Practice Basic Shapes
Create: ✅ Rectangle
✅ Circle
✅ Line
✅ Polygon
Resize, rotate, duplicate, and color them.
Step 3: Learn Shortcuts
Useful shortcuts:
Ctrl + N = New page
Ctrl + S = Save
Ctrl + C = Copy

Ctrl + D = Duplicate
Ctrl + G = Group
P = Center object on page
