There was a time I almost lost my fire.
Not because I didn’t love fashion, but because the journey tested every part of me, my patience, my faith, my strength, and my self-belief.
Designing this gown was more than creating something beautiful for the runway. It was about proving to myself that even after pressure, confusion, and doubt, I could still shine.
When I first finished this dress, I didn’t like it. I felt something was missing. It didn’t look like the vision I had in my heart. I almost gave up. But something in me refused to settle. I decided to start all over again. I loosened every stitch, took everything apart, and rebuilt it from the beginning.
That process broke and remade me. It taught me patience, excellence, and surrender. It reminded me that starting over doesn’t mean failure. It means you’re brave enough to get it right.
Every fabric choice, every bead, every stitch became part of a healing process. This dress taught me more than any class ever could.
It taught me that resilience is quiet. It lives in the long nights, the re-dos, and the moments of doubt when you choose to keep going anyway.
This gown, “Becoming Light,” represents my journey from fear to freedom.
The structured corset symbolizes strength (the part of me that refused to break).
The flowing skirt represents release, learning to trust the process and embrace growth.
And the shimmer across the fabric reminds me of grace, that gentle glow that comes only after the storm.

When I saw my model walk in it for the first time, I didn’t just see a dress.
I saw a woman reborn, calm, radiant, and free.
I saw me.
This project would not have been possible without my boss Agbons GL , whose guidance, belief, and support pushed me beyond my limits. Thank you for teaching me to trust my hands, my mind, and my light.
This is not just my graduation project.
It is a mirror of my resilience, a reminder of how far I’ve come,
and a promise to never dim my light again.
Because no matter what happens next,
I am still Becoming Light.
