Bartimeaus was obviously blind but certainly not to opportunities. He saw an opportunity that even people with sight couldn't see. He seized an opportunity that His fellow blind men couldn't perceive. He kept shouting the name of Christ Jesus until he caught his attention.

He must have had a fore knowledge of Jesus' miraculous ability. So when Jesus passed by, he knew it that only the man famously talked about can pull this diverse crowd to himself. A crowd of his disciples, followers, critics, haters, doubters, fans, rumour mongers etc.

The crowd rebuked sharply him for his shouts. He continued relentlessly. He shut his ears to their critics. He didn't allow them to deter him.

He had prepared for this day. He stepped out of the crowd of excited fans who clap at the news of another almost unbelievable miracle into few faith-full believers. He didn't permit his blindness to incapacitate him.

It was an opportunity of a lifetime to be touched by the creator of mankind. His opportunity-seizing ability earned him a record in the book of all books.

To be touched by the Savior is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Some peculiar opportunities are divinely prepared to turn your life for the benefits of generations. These ones are rare to come by and they are dressed in work clothes.

Only a prepared mind can recognise an opportunity in it's disguised form. Don't let a blind man beat you to the game of opportunity recognition and seizure. Wise up!
