There's something I keep seeing from upcoming artists, and honestly, it confuses me every time.

A guy releases his first song today then three weeks later, he's already asking why he doesn't have the fanbase of OD Woods.

And I'm sitting there wondering do people actually know how long it took Od woods to build what he has today?

Because success has a funny way of making people forget the years that came before it.

People see the fanbase.

But they don't see the sacrifices, the consistency, and the countless hours spent building a brand when nobody was paying attention.

Od woods didn't wake up one morning and find thousands of fans waiting for him.

He earned them.

While many artists quit after a few months, he kept showing up.

And that's the part many people ignore.

The truth is, there are countless talented artists nobody has heard of.

Not because the music is bad.

But because talent alone doesn't move music anymore.

You can have the sweetest song in the world, but if nobody hears it, how will they become fans?

In fact, we've seen artists blow up with their very first single.

Not because they were lucky.

But because they understood how to put the right tools, the right promotion, and the right strategy behind the music.

That's what many upcoming artists miss.

They're comparing their chapter one to someone else's chapter eleven.

They're demanding results they haven't worked long enough to earn.

Imagine looking at an artist with over a decade of consistency and multiple projects to his name.

And expecting to reach the same level after one song.

It doesn't work that way.

The music industry rewards patience.

It rewards people who keep planting seeds long after others stop watering theirs.

So instead of worrying about becoming the next Od woods overnight.

Focus on becoming the best version of yourself.

Create relationships with serious artists, producers, media platforms, and entertainment businesses.

Because one day, someone else might be looking at your success and be asking "how did they get there so fast?"

Without realizing it took years.

Losing my voice was one of the darkest moments of my life.

It started like an ordinary sore throat.

At first, I thought it would disappear after a few days.

But days became weeks, weeks became months and suddenly, speaking itself started becoming painful.

My vocal cord became inflamed, and acid reflux kept making the damage worse.

After performing in Ghana and stressing my voice heavily, the reflux constantly touched the vocal cord until the situation became very serious.

That’s when fear entered my life.

Because for most people, losing their voice is frustrating, but for an artist, losing your voice feels like losing part of your identity.

And honestly, one of the hardest parts was watching people misunderstand everything.

Some thought I was being unserious.

Some thought I simply didn’t want to perform.

But behind the scenes, I was fighting silently for the one thing my entire career depends on.

My voice.

There were moments I became scared thinking:

“What if my voice never returns the same again?”

That fear can break anybody mentally.

Because people only see the fame, the performances, the energy on stage.

They rarely see the sacrifices, pain, anxiety, and health battles happening privately behind the spotlight.

This experience humbled me deeply.

It taught me that health is something money, fame, and popularity can never replace.

And sometimes God allows difficult seasons to slow us down and remind us we are still human.

Today, I’m still grateful.

Because even in the pain, I learned patience, resilience, and how important it is to protect myself physically and mentally.

Never ignore your health chasing success.

Nothing is more expensive than losing the thing that gives you purpose.

“I used to accept gifts from random people, but something funny happened and I told myself that from that day, I’ll only accept gifts from people I know.

“A certain lady on social media who makes nkwobi offered to give me some Nkwobi, and I accepted out of repsect for her. After some time, this lady had an event. She reached out to me and pleaded with me to give her Rema to perform at the event.

“My people, how does nkwobi equal to Rema? If you want me to reciprocate the nkwobi you gave me, why not ask for something that I can easily give? Why Rema?”

The key is keeping yourself to yourself. Keep your mystery. Don't give them too much information so they can't define you.
