WORLD MOST EXPENSIVE DOG

A wealthy Benhaluru-based dog enthusiast has made headlines today by buying the most expensive dog in the world.

S Sathish, 51, paid a staggering Rs 50 crore (around €5.3 million) for Cadabomb Okami, a rare “wolfdog” that is a cross between a wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd.

Not only is Cadabomb Okami the most expensive dog in the world, he is believed to be the first of his kind.

The wolfhound is 8 months old, stands at 30 inches tall, and already weighs 75 kg.

NESREA and PROTEGO widen collaboration on Circular Economy against Marine Pollution.

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and the PROTEGO project implementation team , on Thursday continued discussions on strategies to tackle plastic pollution in the marine environment through Circular Economy.

Director General of NESREA, Prof Innocent Barikor intimated the team of the Waste Marketplace digital platform, an innovative hub developed by Recyclestack in partnership with the Agency to enable waste or raw materials transactions, as well as wastes and stakeholders’ data visibility.

He explained that the platform would enable the Agency to formalize the informal sector of the circular economy, aggregate data for policy decisions and provide Nigerians a platform to trade their waste materials which will include plastics.

NESREA Sealed over 20 facilities over Environmental Pollutions

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has shut down 25 facilities across four states for failing to comply with environmental regulations.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday in Abuja by Mrs. Nwamaka Ejiofor, Assistant Director (Press) at NESREA.

She explained that the facilities, spanning various sectors, were shut down in Anambra, Enugu, Bayelsa, and Rivers States for committing a range of environmental offences.

According to Ejiofor, the violations included failure to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) before project commencement, refusal to carry out Environmental Audits, and the absence of functional effluent treatment plants, among others.

List of affected facilities

The sealed facilities include Rugal Pharmaceutical, Emene Industrial Layout, Enugu; China Communication Construction Company, Owo yard, Enugu; Planet Project Holy Ghost Central Park, Enugu; Planet Project Garriki Central Project, Enugu.

Reinforce Global Construction Company Ltd, Enugu-Abakaliki Flyover; Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, Okpara Avenue, Enugu; Tanit Medical Engineering Ltd, Enugu International Hospital Project; and Mil House Energy Services Ltd, Awhum Village, Enugu State.

Other sealed facilities include China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Obogoro Road, Swali, Yenagoa, Bayelsa; Megastar Technical and Construction Company Limited, Imiringi Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa; and Multi Plan Nigeria Ltd., Okuru-Ama, Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, among others.

Repeat offences not tolerated

She noted that the facilities were shut down for various environmental violations, including the failure to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) before project commencement, refusal to carry out environmental audits, and the absence of functional effluent treatment plants, among others.

NUBESS AG PRESIDENT ADDRESS TO BENUE STUDENTS ON THE UNFORTUNATE ATTACK AND ROBBERY OF MISS BUM NGUHER DEBORAH, A BSU STUDENTS.

On the 16th of May, 2025 at around 3:00am, a female student of Benue State University, Makurdi, was brutally attacked and robbed in her residence at Cornerstone Academy, Gyado Villa, Makurdi. The assailants made away with two of her handbags, one footwear, and the sum of ₦25,000. She sustained serious injuries during the incident.

I was informed of the incident in the morning by one of my appointees. Without delay, we proceeded to her residence. I spoke with the victim and personally assessed her condition. I immediately contacted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of E’ Division to report the matter. He instructed that the victim be brought to the station at E’ Division, Akpehe.

Upon our arrival, I noticed some delays in the process, which prompted me to contact the Commissioner of Police directly. The Commissioner responded swiftly, ordered an immediate investigation, and ensured that the welfare of the victim was prioritized. The DPO assigned two officers to accompany us to the scene of the incident.

The Commissioner of Police has assured me that no effort will be spared until the perpetrators of this heinous act are apprehended and brought to justice.
