Borno APC Governorship Flagbearer Gubio Receives Congratulatory Visits from Support Groups, Stakeholders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Borno State, Engr. Mustapha Gubio (AMG), on Tuesday received no fewer than 12 delegations of stakeholders, support groups, clubs, and associations who paid him congratulatory visits following his emergence as the party's flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election.

The delegations, who visited the candidate at Lodge 7 in Maiduguri, congratulated him on his victory and pledged their continued support as preparations gather momentum for the next election cycle.

Speaking during the visits, Engr. Gubio, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia after performing the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to emerge as the APC governorship candidate.

"I give thanks to Almighty Allah for His mercy and guidance, which made it possible for me to emerge as the APC flag bearer. This is a responsibility I accept with humility and a commitment to serve the people of Borno State," he said.

The APC candidate also expressed profound appreciation to Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum for endorsing and supporting his candidacy.

"I remain deeply grateful to His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for the confidence he has reposed in me and for providing me the opportunity to build on the remarkable achievements recorded under his administration," Gubio stated.

He further thanked party leaders, stakeholders, and the people of Borno State for the overwhelming support and acceptance shown to him since his emergence.

"The massive acceptance and goodwill demonstrated by stakeholders and citizens across the state are encouraging. I assure you that I will continue to engage all segments of our society as we move forward together," he added.

Gubio assured the visiting groups that, if elected, his administration would focus on sustaining and consolidating the developmental projects and reforms initiated by Governor Zulum.

"My priority will be to sustain, consolidate, and expand the laudable projects and programs implemented by Governor Zulum in order to ensure continued progress, peace, and prosperity for our people," he said.

Among the delegations that visited the APC candidate were stakeholders from Gubio and Nganzai Local Government Areas, various clubs and associations, and several support groups from across the state.

The governorship candidate received the visitors in the company of prominent APC leaders and officials, including Member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba; Engr. Vungas; Alhaji Garba Mulima; APC State Secretary, Barrister Loskorima; former Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Tijjani Goni; and Elder Musa Inuwa Kubo Shani, among other party stalwarts.

HON. PRINCE ABBA KAWU SHEHU ABUBAKAR OBSERVES EID PRAYER IN MAFA

The District Head of Mafa and Special Adviser on Local Government and Emirates Affairs, Hon./Prince Abba Kawu Shehu Abubakar, today observed the Eid prayer at the Mafa Eid Ground alongside thousands of Muslim faithfuls in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

During the gathering, the Prince called on the people of Mafa to continue praying for lasting peace, unity, stability, and continuous progress in Mafa Local Government, Borno State, and Nigeria at large. He emphasized the importance of harmony, cooperation, and mutual understanding among the people, especially during this blessed festive period.

The Eid prayer was attended by the Chairman of Mafa Local Government, Alhaji Saleh, Special Adviser on RUWASA, Shettima Lawan Maina (GOC), former local government chairmen, local government executives, the current vice chairman, former vice chairmen, councillors, traditional title holders, community leaders, and many other dignitaries.
